Field Trip to the Indigenous Music and Arts Festival and the Seneca Art and Culture Center at Ganondagan State Historic Site in Victor, NY

July 26, 2026 10 AM-6 PM

from Su Ramen

This fun and educational trip is being arranged by the UUCAS Indigenous Neighbors Team. We will enjoy and appreciate Haudenosaunee and indigenous cultures through dance, music, storytelling, traditional craft demonstrations, live interviews, children’s activities and Indigenous foods, guided gallery and walking trail tours, as well as a Native American Arts Market and a traditional Haudenosaunee longhouse. The air-conditioned Seneca Art and Cultural Center will also be open, if you prefer a relaxing atmosphere.

Carpooling is being arranged, and timing can be flexible for late risers or early retirees. A donation of $5/person or $10/family is suggested, but not required, and financial help is available through Rev. Darcey Laine. Please use the sign in sheet in the social room or let Jackie or Becky know or email uucas@uucas.org. Volunteer drivers are welcome, and gas money may be provided.

Questions? Contact Michele Strohl or Becky.

Program schedule and further information can be obtained from the bulletin board in the social room or at:
Indigenous Music & Arts Festival | Ganondagan

Ganondagan State Historic Site and the Seneca Art & Cultural Centre showcase Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) history, culture and living traditions that express universal ideals of peace cooperation and respect for each other and the natural world.

Part of their mission statement is – Collaborating with other indigenous people of the world as well as with diverse religious and ethnic communities to promote the common values of peace, cooperation and respect for each other and the natural world.

These ideals are in keeping with our UU Principals and what we at UUCAS actively work for. We had a presentation at our church last year by this group. This festival will be another great opportunity for us to engage with our Native American brethren. Please sign up by July 12th.
